Kayla Childs of TAKEMETOWONDERLAND Studio is an artist, actress, and creative director with a passion for the power of storytelling through music and film.

Greatly inspired by pop culture and performance arts, a large portion of her artistic practice is turning songs into music - using found objects and media that expresses the narrative of the particular song she's painting. Her unique style is fluid, transforming from piece to piece, always in greater service of the concept and the story of the songs. 

Trained as a performing artist first, drama has lent itself as a defining element in her artistic style. Whether it's the chaotic explosion of colours, the lavish photoshoots with the paintings, or the cheeky lyrics she uses as the titles of her work - you can tell that she's comfortable with the spotlight, and welcomes inquisition into her process and artistic world.

Where can you find her when she's not in the studio? Likely out for dinner in a dimly lit restaurant with a glass of red wine, or cozied up at home in candlelight while her favourite records play. Obsessed with colour and texture in life and in art, you can guarantee she's leaning into whatever visceral experiences life has to offer <3
